The inspiration for this collection, Repetition, was inspired by ARTE POVERA.

An art movement that emerged in Italy at the end of the 1960s and beginning of the 1970s. Means 'poor art' in Japanese. Characteristic of Arte Povera's work was the repetitive presentation of everyday, simple materials such as iron, scrap wood, stone and scraps of cloth.

This collection is inspired by this 'repetition' that characterizes Arte Povera's work. Often we spend our time "deja vu" repeating things. It can be a repetition of time, a repetition of actions, a repetition of events or a repetition of words. We re-experience something that we have already experienced.

The work incorporates these experiences that we all have as 'repetition' into the pieces in this collection. Patterns from the upper body are repeated on the lower body, patterns from the lower body are repeated on the upper body, and patterns from the lower body are repeated on the upper body, as close as possible to repetition, inversion and repeating parts.

In order to incorporate Arte Povera's frugal materials, the finished piece was then inked with four fingers to give the textile a crushed look. The collection is packed with the maximum of SOEUR tokyo's appeal, with items that can be disassembled and worn either on the upper or lower half of the body, allowing for a variety of styling possibilities.
